It all began with a seed and a dream. Our vision was to offer a premier collection of plants, incomparable in Ohio. We felt that a garden center that's 100% focused on creating the kind of gardens our customers previously only imagined, just could not accomplish those goals without plants that are clearly a huge cut above what you find at typical retail outlets. We started by scouring the country for the very best breeders around to make sure the plants we grow would be nothing short of spectacular. We then hired a team of growers that are second to none. Finally, we built greenhouses that would provide the environment our plants would need to flourish. Our dream has become a reality, and today, we are proud to boast that our on-site greenhouses provide the majority of plants offered at A Proper Garden. Here's a quick primer about the plants we grow and why they are so different:

• Our locally grown high quality plants have not been compromised due to shipping.
• We use larger pots to provide stronger, healthier root systems, and the need for fewer plants.
• Pinching the "old fashioned way", by hand rather than with chemical agents, produces a stockier plant.
• Our specially blended soil contains rich organic ingredients, a premium fertilizer, and moisture agent to maintain superlative growing conditions.
• We treat our plants with a minimum of chemicals to protect our environment.
• Natural and recycled materials are used whenever possible.
• Our choice plant collections are hand -selected by local gardeners for their excellent performance in Central Ohio.
